This is a good book on one of Africa's greatest sons who had a clear vision of the direction that the continent should follow. Nkrumah led Ghana to its independence but as far as he was concerned, Ghana could not be fully independent until the whole continent was free. He also believed in economic emancipation of the African continent as well as African unity.

Nkrumah's pan-African credentials are second to none. His ideas were too far ahead of most other African leaders who were taking advantage of their newly found status to amass wealth for themselses and not to be interested on ideas about African unity or economic well being for their people. His ideas put him on collision course with the strong and developed Western powers. His doom was, therefore, sealed as he was ultimately overthrown in a military coup.

However, Nkrumah's ideas have lived on. The African continent is now completely decolonised. However, the dream of African unity is still to be realised as well as the need to see economic empowerment of the African people. Nkrumah's vision will continue to inspire people towards the realisation of unity and prosperity for the continent and its people.

Whether you are used to hearing reggae music a lot, or listening to it for the very first time then this CD is a collectors must have item.

This artist is highly regarded for being a professional musician. Other than the late, great Bob Marley himself, he is considered to be one of the very best reggae artist to ever reach an entire Afro/European audience where the fans are absolutely thrilled with his delivery style.

Consciously edutaining, his music delivers a positive and very clear message to his fans worldwide. Most will readily admit that they are very happy to receive some airplay of rebel music on European radio stations. As far as the majority of the people are concerned, we all love the rebel musical vibes and just cannot afford to refuse it. His fans are always asking for more, more, and much more...

Disney does great with the songs in between the cartoons. And they use the cartoons from "The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh" which is awesome because I thought that they should have come out with them on DVD a long time ago. Wonderful animation, great story plot and all around it's a marvelous tool for learning and fun. I highly recommend it for people of all ages!!!!!!!!!

At first glance, this book appears to be simply an illustration of a kids song. Some reviewers have complained that that's all there is..so why buy it. But actually, there is a lot more there if you look.

First of all, while illustrated songs seem like an odd choice sometimes to adults, little kids LOVE them. Invariably, they are the ones my two year old brings to me again and again. They are also the first books that kids are able to memorize. This is important because they like to pull them out when they are playing independently, and model reading on their own. What a satisfying experience for a pre-reader! Plus, for parents for whom it doesn't come as naturally to bring music into their children's lives, these sorts of books are a great way to do so.

This book does an excellent job of being really clear with the pictures lining up the words and the body parts. The first line, she gives each body part it's very own page, so that they can be large and really obvious -- the little animal on the page mirroring the same body part as the baby is also very adorable.

When she gets to eyes, ears, mouth and nose, she adds another dimension by putting in item on the page that you can do with that body part -- for eyes - books, for ears - baby instruments, for mouth - baby food and sippy cup, and for nose - flowers. So there is a discussion element if you are reading this with your baby and choose to take it.

The back of the book has the last "knees and toes" echo...pretty cute, and also has the whole song written out under a staff with musical notes. My older daughter has taken to grabbing this 'baby' book and asking how to pluck it out on her little piano keyboard. So the book can have a second life for that purpose later on.

The pictures of the babies are endearing.. I love their happy little faces. It is worth noting that while the babies are definitely different "shades" -- it's hardly what I'd call multi-cultural, which is a shame because there's no reason why it couldn't have been. She did throw in a couple girls.

All and all, if the multicultural issue doesn't concern you, I'd recommend this highly for your own little one, or for a gift.

The hunger games

Hunger is no laughing matter, many people are allowed to go hungry through no fault of their own. Things like natural disasters, famine, drought, homelessness are just some of the reasons why people go hungry, or without food for many days, weeks, or months even.

It is very important that those of us who are in a position to help others during their crisis do so without fail. No one likes the thought of having to beg others for food and other basic needs in order to survive but sometimes in the name of survival it is only human nature to do what you have to do in order to stay alive.

The hunger game is not something that affects only the poor. Animals and other living species can also be affected by hunger and as humanitarians we have to keep reminded of this also.

In order to eradicate hunger it would be nice if we all did what we can in order to eradicate world hunger. Since knowledge is the key to success a great place to start would be through education. This recommended book is an excellent place to start for other suggestions about how the hunger games can be won.
